The synchronous and seamless buck-boost regulation concept is efficient for circuits where the output voltage matches the input, like in short chains with 2 to 3 high-power LEDs connected to a 12V electrical system. It also enables cost-optimized LED headlamps, driving multiple separately switched LED loads in one string with up to 55V string voltage, using just one TLD5541-1QV.
